Watchable and likeable film about 3 friends who skip school and run amok for the day. Most of the humor's toothless. But, it works as a joyride travelogue.
Plot: Ferris

He's a model for all those who take themselves too seriously. A guy who
knows the value of a day off. Ferris Bueller's Day Off chronicles the
events in the day of a rather magical young man, Ferris (Broderick). One
spring day, toward the end of his senior year, Ferris gives into an
overwhelming urge to cut school and head for downtown Chicago with his
girl (Sara) and his best friend (Ruck), to see the sights, experience a
day of freedom and show that with a little ingenuity, a bit of courage
and a red Ferrari, life at 17 can be a joy!
Barbara Bush (then Frist Lady) paraphrased Ferris in her 1990 commencement address at Wellesley College:
"Find the joy in life, because as Ferris Bueller said on his day off, 'Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it!'"
The film's influence in popular culture extends beyond the film itself to how musical elements of the film have been received as well: Yello's 'Oh Yeah' was used to illustrate the mouthwatering must-haveness of Cameron's dad's Ferrari. Since then, it has become synonymous with avarice. Every time a movie, TV show or commercial wants to underline the jaw-dropping impact of a hot babe or sleek auto, that synth-drum starts popping and that deep voice rumbles, 'Oh yeah...'
"A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" is a 2011 ensemble-comedy film written and directed by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck. It stars Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Bibb, Lake Bell, Michelle Borth, Nick Kroll, Tyler Labine, Lindsay Sloane, Lucy Punch and Will Forte.
Plot: Eric is a thirty-something party animal famous among his close circle of friends for his lavish summer theme parties at his father's swanky Hamptons pad. But when members of the crew start settling down, and Eric's dad announces plans to sell the beach house, Eric decides it's time for one last bash to go out with a proverbial bang—a good old-fashioned orgy. The only obstacles to overcome are actually convincing each of his reluctant friends to join in on the bacchanal, and an inconveniently blossoming romance with the real estate agent threatening to sell the house out from under him before the main event can even take place.
I absolutely love this movie. This is a true co-ed comedy, with great characters and comedy for the guys and girls. Feels like a cult classic already.
